It was the second day of my Business School and I was full
of curiosity, apprehension and excitement. In the second lecture itself, I was
introduced to the whole crux of doing business. It was the class of Prof. T.Prasad popularly known as
Dr.Mandi. As soon as he entered the class,he asked us to sit around him on the
floor and keep the notebooks aside.I was totally surprised by his unique unconventional
style of teaching.
He also showed us other educational toys like a sponge ball
with a world map which are sold in the Annual Mandi on the streets of Mumbai. The
other toy though was looking like a butterfly but it could actually carry its
weight on its beak. These toys would surely trigger the grey cells of
students. These examples taught me the significance of selling the right
product which is beneficial to the whole society. He also explained us about
the importance of our body language, the way we hold the product, the way we
present ourselves as this directly influences the end customer.

There is no learning unless you are earning through it
because....
" There is 'earning' in every learning "
He explained us every learning
can be used for earning and there is nothing wrong in earning if we follow the
right path. This is one of the important lessons I learnt. Earning by selling
the right product seemed absolutely possible as I learnt this from a person who
has been there and done that. The real life example of college students who
made educational toy based on Newton’s Cradle and their success after the
launch of product has opened my eyes. There are millions of opportunities that
are lying around us. We just need to keep our eyes always open. That’s why he always keeps on saying:
“Dekho…..Socho…,Socho…..Becho….,Becho…….Seekho”
Lastly, Dr. Mandi asked us to share our
learning using blogs with others so that anybody can learn through it. Anybody
who is willing to learn will not have to pay the fees for it as whatever is
taught in the class will be available on the internet for free. His dream is to
make admission into a B-School redundant. This blog is just a small step from
my side to make that dream come true.
